Prime Timers

Central Florida is home to a rapidly growing group of adults loving this stage of life we call “PRIME TIME”. (apx. age 50+) Welcome, if that’s you!! Have you discovered that… We have more time, more freedom, more opportunities to enjoy life, however most of us relocated here leaving behind family, friends and familiar, so we’re looking for safe relationships and new fulfillment in this stage of life. You too?

COTLakes believes this “PRIME TIME” season of life could be our most significant. We, mature adults, have accumulated wisdom and life experience to share with those our lives can influence, both in our extended families and the younger generations here in Leesburg.

COTLakes seeks to help us understand who God has designed us each uniquely to BE; how God has used our life journey to prepare us for this “PRIME TIME” season of life; and help us discover strategic opportunities for us to ‘make a difference’ in our world!

Here are some pathways for “PRIME TIMERs” to engage with this vision:

● Adult Bible Fellowship: 8:30am every Sunday in LHS Cafeteria. A wonderful experience for building friendships; spiritual growth exploring God’s Word the Bible together; hearing fresh reports of what God is doing through COTLakes in Leesburg; and of course coffee & snacks!

● “GRIEF CARE RESTORE”: Pastor Doug & Dawn Anderson walk with widows and widowers through their grief journey to restoration of hope and even joy in life. The healing love of Jesus, the comforting truths of God’s Word, and the presence of compassionate friends are powerful in the ‘valley of the shadow of death’.

● “Love In Action”: Serving one another with skills we’ve developed, helping to meet the practical needs of life such as modest home maintenance or even preparing for hurricanes etc.

● “Small Groups”: Groups of all styles provide a wonderful, safe place to build mutually encouraging friendships, grow spiritually and serve others.

● “Dream Teams”: A wide range of serving teams welcome the skills, expertise, energy, new ideas and reliability of “Prime Timers”. Some are COTLakes focused, others are community focused. There’s a place for you!

• At COTLakes we celebrate every person and their ability to ‘dream’ of better ways to do things or new ideas that will help our community experience the love and help of Jesus. “PRIME TIMERs” (those of us over age 50) are particularly valuable to the COTLakes Dream Teams. Why? Because we have so much life experience, so much wisdom, so many different skills and talents could make a great difference in our church and community.Some COTLakes Dream Teams serve the COTLakes family through worship or Lakes Kids or Tenacious Youth or Small Groups or ‘Love In Action” other COTLakes Dream Teams serve our community through the THRIVE Center or The Rock Programs in our schools or the Leesburg Police Department. So many different ways to help touch people with the love of Jesus!Interested to find the “Dream Team” which will embrace your ideas, your energy and your heart?
